Experience Great Moments
Getting to the Slopes for the End of the Season
While the skiing season is going strong with great powder across the country, spring can be unpredictable in Canada. February may be the end in many places, or hills could run right up until the beginning of April, in every province in the country. If your family wants to hit the slopes before you miss the chance, here are some great options.
We’ve got a google map list with all the ski hills we could find for you, so you can choose the locations that work best for your itinerary.

Cape Smokey, Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia has a few great options for skiing, but Cape Smokey is something particularly special, with its stunning ocean views from the hilltop. Run by volunteers, they have sales for March break tickets right now.

Tiny Quick Tips
While last week’s tips about keeping everyone warm are still useful, spring is around the corner. This week here are some ideas for keeping busy when it is wet, slushy, and mucky outside and you want to stick to indoors.
Visit museums, art galleries or science centres
Find indoor sports venues, like rock climbing, laser tag, indoor soccer, or a batting cage.
Plan your next trip
Cozy up in a cafe, and each get your favourite hot drink
Find an indoor pool or waterpark
Go outside anyway. Dig out the rain boots and slush pants and have a puddle jumping contest, look for signs of spring, or do some bird watching (our first robins are back already!)
Make maple or birch syrup. Wet and slushy means it is the perfect time of year!
Sometimes the weather makes wanting to be outside challenging. But there’s also the old adage “there’s no bad weather, just bad clothes.”
